FAQ

Do you do group dog walks?

No! While it is more economical for companies to walk 4 or 5 dogs at a time, this is not necessarily the safest, least stressful approach for your pooch. As a matter of policy the only time we walk multiple dogs is when they are from the same household. We want your pet to have an enjoyable 1-on-1 walk where we can give them all the attention they deserve!

How does the service work?

Services are rendered within a two-hour window, e.g.: if a 9am service is requested, we will visit between 8am-10am. For overnight stays, the times are as stated.

When is payment due?

Payment is due at the time of booking. If it is a weekly service, payment is due the night before each weekly service.

For overnights or extended vacations, we require a 50% deposit to hold the dates for your trip and the remainder when you return. Valley Pet Pal is happy to accept your preferred method of payment, including cash, check, PayPal and Venmo.

Do you take last minute requests?

We will always do our best to fulfill immediate requests without prior reservation.

What if my pet gets sick while I am away?

Prior to the start of the sitting, you are required to fill out an emergency vet form, stating your wishes in case of an emergency. We will attempt to contact you if an emergency arises. However, if you cannot be reached and the pet's condition requires immediate action, we will seek care from a licensed veterinary professional. The vet will stabilize your pet until you are able to make further decisions. Any fees incurred by Valley Pet Pal must be reimbursed by the client.

How far should I plan ahead for overnight vacation visits?

Spaces go fast so please try to reserve services ahead of time. We will do our best to accommodate everyone!

Why Use a Pet Sitter?

Advantages for your pet include:

  • Your pet remains in his or her familiar, secure environment, where all the sights, smells and sounds are familiar.

  • Your pet follows his or her customary diet and exercise routine.

  • Your pet is not traumatized by travel in a vehicle.

  • Your pet is not exposed to illness of other animals in a kennel.

  • Most importantly, your pet receives love and personal attention while you are away.

Benefits for the owner include some of the following:

  • You are not inconvenienced (or traumatized) by transporting your pet.

  • You do not have to impose upon a friend, neighbor, or relative.

  • Your home is looked after as well, since most pet sitters provide crime-deterrent services.

  • You can leave home worry-free knowing your pet is in good hands.

  • You can return home at any hour of the day and find your healthy, happy pet eagerly awaiting your return.
